At a local I saw a crowd of happy kids gathered around a police officer. Intrigued, I wondered, “Why are these kids so excited to be with this cop?”

The officer was giving out something that had the kids absolutely thrilled. As a young boy walked by, clutching his prize - I stopped him and asked about his new treasure.

“She gave me her Cop Card!” he told me beaming brightly. He showed me a colorful card with a picture of the proud officer. On the back was listed “Do’s and Don’t’s” for using 911.

Asthe last child skipped away, I asked the officer about the cards. Her eyes lit up, “These cards are more than just paper – they're bridges connecting us to these kids in ways I never expected.”
